The Official Do Good Better Podcast Ep18 Water At Work Ministry

from The Official Do Good Better Podcast · host Patrick Kirby

Your organization is awesome. But sometimes you want to be even awesomer! The Official Do Good Better Podcast is here to help! Each episode features (fundraising expert, speaker, event creator and author) Patrick Kirby interviewing leaders and champions of small and medium nonprofits share their successes, their impact, and what makes them a unicorn in a field of horses. Patrick will also answer a fundraising question, and most importantly, showcase how you can support these small nonprofits doing great big things! Joining Patrick today is Jennifer Yin, Director of Communications for Water at Work Ministry. Water at Work Ministry is a faith-based non-profit headquartered in Atlanta, GA. They partner with local churches in the Dominican Republic to establish sustainable water businesses that serve the poorest communities in the country. Their organization in the Dominican is led by four local in-country staff, and in the US they are led by two volunteer staff. They have been in operation for 10 years and love meeting people's physical needs and spiritual needs through the vehicle of clean water. Jennifer’s BIG QUESTION is: “How can we fundraise for "non-sexy things" like salaries for new employees? Seems like folks always want NPOs to keep overhead low, but to truly be an impactful organization that lasts the long haul, you've got to have money for salaries and overhead. How do we turn the corner?” Learn More: www.wateratworkministry.org Email Jennifer: [email protected] #water #water@work #water@workministry Love the show?
