The CBS Radio Mystery Theater was a strong attempt to revive in American radio dramas like Inner Sanctum (1941-1952) and Suspense (1942-1962). CBS Radio Mystery Theater, or simply Mystery Theater, was created by Inner Sanctum creator Himan Brown and ran on CBS from 1974-1982. The show, much like older radio dramas, was introduced by host E.G. Marshall, who steers us through the creaking door to start the episode. Many voices from the golden age of radio were featured, including Richard Widmark, Bret Morrison and Agnes Moorehead.
