Sometimes it’s better to just let a ball go out, or just clear your lines and boot it. But that’s the risks we often take and that’s the price we often pay. 2: It’s real hard to play a team that’s dangerous from 0-35 yards. I’m not even mad at the second goal. It’s world class and very little can be done about it. 3: In truth, going forward, it wasn’t terrible. There were some really positive attacking sequences. Some really good half chances and a couple of chances that should’ve been goals. Our XG backs that up. Columbus was the epitome of clinical and we were not. 4: When your best player is not as his best, your team probably won’t be either. Thiago had a bad night. It wasn’t that he was just absent from the game, it’s that he was actually bad. Poor passes. Poor service. Virtually no impact. We needed more. Much more. 5: We played a better version of ourselves. Columbus should win MLS Cup. They’re the most complete team in the league right now. They are what we are striving to be.
