The One with J - Discipline and authenticity

My life used to be led by discipline. I was successful therefor I was disciplined.  Most days needed so much discipline, but I kept telling myself this is what success feels like. This is what success looks like.  You don’t achieve greatness without discipline. Wrong. In the past couple of years, I’ve realized my disciplined life was limiting me.  I was avoiding life experiences because, well, “I’m so disciplined” I would say. Now looking back, I was afraid. Afraid of what an authentic life would look like for me. Would I “let myself go” if I didn’t live off of discipline?  What would actually happen?  I slowly started to let go of the discipline and shifted my focus on AUTHENTICITY.  What would happen if my daily behaviours and choices were led by ME.  What I ACTUALLY want to do.  It’s ironic that I was so afraid to “lose myself” if I didn’t have discipline yet I actually FOUND myself by letting go of it.  Letting go of any rules. Letting go of the “shoulds” I had set for myself through society’s eyes. I encourage you to look at your life. Do you need a lot of discipline to live it? Do you often have to say no to life experiences because of “all the discipline you have”. I just want to create awareness and tell you that authenticity is in right now.
