The Only Way to Truly Change Your Life From Within | Colossians 3

In this episode of Bible Chapter by Chapter, we walk verse by verse through Colossians Chapter 3 — the pivot point of the letter, where the theology of who Christ is becomes the practice of how you live.Paul opens with a fact, not a command. You died. And your life is hidden with Christ in God. Everything the chapter asks flows from that single declaration. The commands are not a ladder to climb toward an identity you don't yet have. They are the description of a life being lived from an identity already given.We work through five movements in this chapter. The hidden life — past, present, and future packed into four verses, establishing the theological ground for everything that follows. Put to death — the specific, named, earthly things that belong to the old self, with covetousness identified as idolatry and the relational failures named one by one. Put on — as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, perseverance, forgiveness, and above all love, the bond that holds everything else in place. The community — where the peace of Christ rules, the word of Christ dwells richly, and whatever you do is done in the name of the Lord Jesus.
