The Origin of the Pharisees

About 95% of Christians get this stuff wrong. Was Jesus extra-hard on the Pharisees? Are Pharisees basically the same as Sadducees? Were the Pharisees part of the crowd who put Jesus to death? The answer to all of those questions is actually “no.” There are a lot of misconceptions about the Pharisees, which we’re going to bring some clarity to on today’s episode. Something else we’ll discuss: where do Pharisees even come from? You see them all over the New Testament, but they’re never around in the Old Testament, so they must have sprung up sometime between the Testaments. But why?
