3-13-2022 Weekly Message Meditation of the Week: Psalm 91:1-16 Text: Song of Solomon 4:16-5:8 Sermon Title: The painful life of Christian without fellowship with the Lord The Song of Solomon provides a very detailed preview of the journey of Christian who is saved by the gospel of Christ. Christians who believe and receive the Lord Jesus Christ sanctified by the blood of Christ are led into the room of the Lord as Sulamite woman, and rejoice in their first love with the Lord(Sol 1:4). Shulamite woman finally hears Solomon’s voice. “Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. ”(Sol 2:10) “Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes. ” (Sol 2 :15) Shuamite woman is separated from the world, but not separated unto Solomon yet. So Solomon spoke to her to leave the world as well as to take away little things hindering their fellowship. Our Lord Jesus Christ also speaks unto saved Christians to leave the world and enter the kingdom of God and live a life of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17). . Those little foxes are the little sins that hinder our fellowship with the Lord. Shulamite woman is not ready to obey the word of Solomon. She excuses herself hesitating to fillow him saying, “Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, ” (Sol 2:17). Even Christians who are not spiritually mature are not willing to get rid of the bad habits that they have enjoyed in the world before they are saved not maintaining holiness in the Lord. Not hearing the voice of the Lord failing in the fellowship with him. Finally, Solomon had to leave her; she had no more fellowship with him at all. She desperately was wandering looking for him. She asked the watchmen but no answer from them at all. Job cried unto God looking for th fellowship with him: ” Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: 9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him: 10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”(Job 23:8-10) When Christians not obey the word of God, cannot see him even though he is around them. They are spiritually blind. King David confess before God walking with God always: “For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. 5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.“(Psalms 139:4-5) Even Christians who have lost their fellowship with the Lord and have experienced the trouble, and who have finally matured spiritually in the midst of suffering, as the Shulamite woman said to Solomon saying unto the Lord, “Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense. ” (Sol 4:6) They finally repent , and make resolution to take up bitter cross to follow Christ with prayer unto higher mountain to be mature spiritually. She is finally filled with her Holy Ghost rejoicing: “Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.” (Sol 4:16). Wind is the Sprit of God spiritually. To comfort the people of Israel who had suffered for four hundred years under King Pharaoh of Egypt, God blew an east wind to make the Red Sea in two parts, and made walls of water on both sides so that the people could cross on dry land. Meanwhile, the king of Pharaoh and all of the Egyptian army were buried in the Red Sea, leaving no one left. He also blew an east wind to feed the Israelites with meat, causing the quails to fall into their camps, feeding them to their fullness. Even when Jesus was talking about man born of the Holy Ghost, he talked about the wind: “The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8). Luke testified of what he saw about the Holy Ghost, which worked like the wind on the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Ghost came upon 120 Jews who were gathering in the upper room to pray in fear of the Jews: ” And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:1-4). When the Shulamite woman, filled with her Holy Ghost, told her beloved Solomon that she should come into his garden and let her eat of his beautiful fruits, King Solomon immediately responded: “I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved..” (Sol 5:1) That’s right! When Christians, filled with the Holy Ghost, gather together to praise, worship, and rejoice in the Lord and invite the Lord, the Lord invites the Christians who are filled with the Holy Ghost into His garden, the Kingdom of God, to rejoice and eat the words like honey and milk. But the Sulamite woman, who was filled with the Holy Ghost seems to be emerged into herself satisfectioncan. . Even today, when Christians are filled with the Word and the Holy Ghost, they pursue their own spiritual life rather than ministering others being self centered, so that they do not care that the Lord’s ministry outside church. From this point on, they neglect to listen the voice of the Lord. Nowadays, when Christians are used to Christian life, they tend to be satisfied with it not paying attention to the voice of the Lord for his ministry. But Christians are responsible to testify the words of God as the helping spouse of Christ until the day of Christ as well as his kingdom come. Apostle Paul encouraged Timothy his spiritual son: “I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.“(Tim. 4:1-2) Nowadays, most churches have become as the Laodicea church. This church is the one that is indulged in self satisfaction no more paying attention of the words of the Lord letting him standing outside the church. Sulamite woman became as Laodicea church. The Lord said, ” Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.” (Sol 5:2), but Sulem. The woman said, ” I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them?” (Sol 5:3). The Lord said to the angel of the church of Laodicea, who was succumbing to self-satisfaction with the abundance of all things, ” Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.“(Revelation 3:20). But they do not open the door like the Shulem woman, and say, “I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; ” (Revelation 3:17). Finally, when she saw King Solomon putting his hand through the doorway and was about to open the door, she saw myrrh dripping onto her finger and opened the door, but King Solomon no more there. Even now, the Lord is speaking with a painful voice like myrrh to the church in Laodicea, which has fallen and has become carnal. Sooner or later, before the great tribulation is to come, our Lord Jesus Christ will appear in the air to take the Philadelphian church members to heaven. The Lord told them that He would spare them the time of the great tribulation: “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.” (Revelation 3:10). When the Shulamite woman knowing that King Solomon had left, and went around her city, they met watch men, and they smite her wounded her. The keepers of the walls even took away her veil, the veil she wore when she met King Solomon to have fellowship with her. The members of the Church of Laodicea who cannot meet the Lord because they cannot be raptured will fall into the great tribulation and will be deeply wounded by the Antichrist and will experience the sorrow of not being able to have fellowship with the Lord any more. They will suffer terribly from the Antichrist in the agony of not meeting the Lord. The Holy Ghost is foreseeing the apostate churches in the last days and is giving a message of reproof. Not only that, but he is also speaking in advance through the Apostle John. Amen! Hallelujah!
