Hello and wish you all a very happy Monday morning and a great fantastic weekend. We could add. All right, so today's title, podcast episode title is The Past Year has taught me this and the subtitle is To Learn and Apply. As you would see that, these titles and subtitles, one of the things that I learned while writing publications is that we have to come up with our title and then you run through this, you know, there are some apps where you can run through the title and then check for, you know, your engagement and things like that.

So initially I was wondering, oh my God, I would give some other title. But then when you do, when you start, when you get into a game, in this case I would say writing, and then writing for publishers and writing for different publishers, then you learn. You learn something new and you implement it and then you have to let go of what you've learned before, right? Because you can't accumulate everything in your brain, so you have to let go.

So I know for some of you it might appear as though, you know, what is this? The past year has taught me this and then I've stopped there and that is the way the title header works. It's not the perfect way, but I'm still learning. With that said, again, this is this is also yet another episode, which is in response to 30-day writing challenge and the it's a daily prompt and the prompt for the day 24, which was given was what lessons did you learn this past year?

How have you grown and improved? So in response to that, in response to that prompt, I wrote this article which was published. Okay, once again, the title is the past year has taught me this and to the subject list to learn and apply. A part of me is struggling to crystallize or summarize the lessons learned in the past year.

As I consider learning a part of my lifestyle, I have not journaled the learnings as a consolidated report. However, I have my soul enriching. That's my favorite word, couple of couple of something, soul enriching, couple of words, whatever, soul enriching, it's my favorite and I put a bracket LOL. So however, I have a soul enriching way to journal with lists, gratitude and conversations with my higher self every day, all in one notebook.

So in fact, one notebook runs my entire day. Everything gets dumped right from keeping trash, cleaning the toilet, talking to my sons, talking to my daughters and talking to my grandson, my friends, doing the one into the activities, preparing food. Everything gets dumped. Guys, I promise you try to do this.

Keep one notebook and start running your day with the notebook. You will thank me later and you will say, Oh my God, it is beautiful because the hard drive in your brain, you know, it has certain capacity. And once you put it into some of the floppy drive, that's too old. Don't use floppy drive.

Once you put it into a cloud, the cloud is going to be your notebook, then wonders happen. Right. Okay. Anyway, and also you start running your day in a very systematic and you are able to channelize.

You're able to channelize your thoughts. You're able to channelize your feelings. You're able to channelize the way you are going to use your 24 hours. You know what I mean?

Okay. I'm off the topic. Okay. Another part of me is prompted to ask a specific question.

What lessons have I learned in the physical, emotional and mental domains? How have I grown or improved? So the question given in the prompt was, what was the question I'm going to go back? What lessons did you learn this past year?

How have you grown and improved? So this became a little gentle and it became fuzzy. And as you might have learned through my previous episodes, I'm a big proponent of asking a question, a question, a specific question. So now I changed it now to a specific question.

And the question that I asked myself, not anybody else myself, what lessons have I learned in the physical, emotional and mental domains? How have I grown or improved? Wow. Now I think I'm coming up with an answer.

At the end of this article, I'm posting links to the resources that I use. Okay. Physical. Take care of your body by eating the right kind of food that suits you.

That suits you. Okay. Not everything what is there in the internet or whatever it is. I mean, take help from there, but be aware of what food suits you.

Have an exercise plan such as a home worker plan or and working out in a gym or and working have a plan for yourself. Mix and match these in such a way that you enjoy the exercise palette created by you. That's what I do. I started off first working in YMC.

It was a wonderful family plan. So we could afford that plan on all of us could go and work out in YMC. I talked about way back in 2002 when I was a victim of downsizing by an employer. And then I never knew that what a layoff or things was.

So that's when I started working on myself, my mind, my body, my spirit, my body, my emotions, my mind. More than anything external and wonders magic happened in my life. So come to come back. So you create an exercise palette for you.

It could be a combination of walking outside, going to gym, and then creating your own exercise plan, home worker. Home workout is beautiful. You can select your own fitness instructor, not pay a single time, except for the internet correction, which is of course you have to pay. And all that stuff, it's wonderful.

So I would recommend that. Some days when you run short of time, ask yourself, what is the 110 or 20 or 30 minutes cardio or H I I T or apps exercise? I can do right now, right now. That's the question if you ask.

So see, your life will become as powerful as it can be. When you ask powerful questions, which has got a beginning and an end, if it's something like, Oh, what can I do for you or something? No, it's fuzzy. Give a time limit.

So then your brain thinks, Oh my God, 10 minutes only, right? I can start now and it'll end in 10 minutes. Oh my God, it's like rewarding yourself. You have to reward yourself in your own way.

Reward, not just with ice cream, chocolate or something like that. Reward can be just a smile. Come to the mirror and just smile at yourself or just do a happy dance or just do something like a coloring on a coloring random, something or do a knitting. It can be rewarding, the way you want.

Okay. Okay. So what is the 110 or 20 or 30 minutes cardio or H I T or apps exercise? I can do right now.

Okay. You will do the exercise and feel accomplished. An important need for the human beings. If you all need to feel accomplished.

Sometimes, you know, people talk about having making millions of dollars or getting this title or, you know, getting this promotion, which is not very good. Okay. I've been there, man, but you need to feel accomplished in small, small things, even in your mundane activities. You might have accomplished, but then you don't feel accomplished.

You don't recognize it. Who is going to do it for you? You have to do it for you. That means releasing the motivation molecule to a domain.

Check off the item. So once you check off the item, okay. So as I said, I brain dump everything, do a 10 minute apps exercise and I write a please for myself and I put it in the third person. Lalita, please do 10 minute app exercise.

What happens to my brain? My brain. So my heart is being so compassionate to my brain and giving a beautiful command, right? And it is ready to work with my brain.

Boom, let's get put the mat to the 10 minute app exercise beginning and it's done. And then check it off. Check it off in your notebook. You know, that check it off means for me, I tell you personally in India, I grew up in India and in all the tests, you know, it was all written tests and things like that.

And there was no computer and all that. So when you get your paper back, test paper back, you will see ticks by your teacher. She would have checked off. Here's in America, we say check off.

So we say ticking. So ticking, checking whatever it is. And that used to be like the dopamine dose for me in those days. So when I see that, I start remembering those days, that's all I need.

That's all that's a reward for me. So you please do that, right? Next, emotional. Be able to check your emotions.

Use tools to feel the feelings and clear the beats from your mental garden. Hey guys, this is very important. People shut away from their emotions. I had to learn it.

As I said, everything it all started for me. The best thing that happened to me was downsizing, exploring self-employment, going through failures, embracing failures and learning so much, learning so much. And still I'm a student of life university. Okay.

So be able to check your emotions, use tools to feel the feelings and clear the beats from your mental garden. I got a lot by researching, learning and using tools to manage emotions, arising due to my response to external circumstances and my irrational thoughts. For me, meditation, writing my own thoughts and feelings on paper, yoga, emotional freedom technique, EFT and chanting stokers. Okay.

These are hymns. Have helped me a lot. You create your own emotional art, talent. Final, mental.

Become aware of what you are watching and how your emotions and physiology are affecting guys. This is very, very important. Okay. I'm not perfect.

I can tell you that once you become aware, okay, this next to half another, how am I spending my time? What videos I'm watching? What thoughts I'm thinking? Be brutally honest with you.

Okay. Okay. Have a strict video audio playlist of podcasts, strict and videos that stimulate your brain and help you apply the learnings in your daily life. Create your mental stimulation, talent.

Right. Like for example, I, I don't laugh sometimes. Right. So I say, watch one comedy for 10 minutes.

Okay. And then, then I watch some of the personal development videos like mindvalley.com, go, they are wonderful videos, self coaching, coaching videos, event play, any Lola, what's the name of Kendall Savark, various coaches, I, because I really like the coaching industry and I watch all of those and I also watch something spiritual. Anyway, to grow and improve, I firmly believe that I must honestly and consistently take responsibility to learn and apply my learnings, the keys apply my learnings in a physical, mental and emotional domains consistently. Doing so will help me become healthier, compassionate and mentally strong.

How has that helped? It has helped me and my family members better understand each other. I can contribute to the community through podcasting, writing, volunteering, and other charity work. I have a clear understanding of what my self employment demands of me and don't get burned out.
