The Patience Test | Jud Wilhite - Audio
from People's Church · host Herbert Cooper
Exodus 34:7 I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected— even children in the third and fourth generations. (NLT) 1. Give Thanks for God’s Patience “I don’t know who needs to hear this but if the house is 73 and you want it to be 68 turning the thermostat down to 60 doesn’t make it happen any quicker.” “And by I don’t know who, I mean my wife, but I can’t tell her because she is pregnant and scares me.” Jonah 4:1-2 This change of plans greatly upset Jonah, and he became very angry. So he complained to the LORD about it: “Didn’t I say before I left home that you would do this, LORD? That is why I ran away to Tarshish! I knew that you are a merciful and compassionate God, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. You are eager to turn back from destroying people. (NLT) 2. Be Patient with Yourself 1 Thessalonians 5:9–11 For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. (NLT)
