from Pittsburgh All Local

The Penguins are starting a new era and Mario Lemieux is no longer a minority owner. News Radio KDKA's Timira Rush has details: Mario Lemieux and former partner Ron Burkle sold their minority stake in the Penguins. TribLive reports the sale happened when the Hoffmann Group purchased the team from Fenway Sports Group. At his introductory news conference in June, new owner Geoff Hoffmann made it clear he hopes Lemieux remains connected to the team. There’s no word yet on what role, if any, Lemieux could have with the Penguins moving forward.
