The People Of September 11th 2001 Everyone has a story about where they were and what they were doing on September 11th 2001. I myself was on a forklift in a warehouse in Chicago. The world stopped, the earth stood still, and one by one we all looked up at the T.V to see the new reality. As a Chicagoian I didn't know anyone in New York. In the Towers, or even in that state. As an American though I felt every bit of the sorrowm and pain of that say I'm not sur if I'm like everyone, anyone, or noone, but It's been fifeteen years, I still get sick to my stomach, I still get tears in my eyes, And a pain in my very soul. Never before had I felt like an American, not like I did from that day on. Not like I will ever forget. 15 years I couldn't look watch or think about it. To hard. To hard Now thouhg 15 years later I run a history podcast.American History. Is there an American event that is more a part of our history then September 11th 2001? How could I address this annivercery when I couldn't even think about the actual event? 911 wasn't about me. wasn't about some misguided terrorists, It was about America. It was about all of us, we are America. So as a sort of theory I guess, I sifted through audio from that day. I pieced together Moments from brave firefighter, Shocked news anchors, and frightened phone calls. You'll hear air traffic controllers, and yes even the terrorists themselves. Picking arranging mastering and finalizing this show and the audio in it was brutal. But not nearly as brutal as that day was for the people at ground zero at that moment in time. So while I started this to commemerate an anniversary, To help my self and to remember those that fought and those we lost I ended up with this. A American history podcast episode. Listen, or don't.
