The People Who Healed Me Were Not Spiritual

For years, I believed spiritual people were safer to love.I built friendships, relationships, and community around the idea of being “on the path.” I quietly distanced myself from people who felt too grounded, too practical, too religious, or too connected to ordinary life. I thought they would never truly understand me, or that they would judge the way I saw the world.But over time, something unexpected started happening.I found myself deeply drawn to people who were more connected to real life than spiritual identity. Family members, old friends, grounded partners, and people who would probably never describe themselves as “spiritual” slowly brought me back to my body, my heart, and my humanity.In this episode, I am actually confessing my poor judgment and how friends and family helped me see a different perspective. I speak about spiritual superiority, judgment, healing, family, grief, and the difference between spirituality and purity of heart. Sometimes the people we believe are “less evolved” are the very people sent to return us to the heart.
