The PERFECT 24-Team College Football Playoff Format (Here's How It Works)

What would the PERFECT 24-team College Football Playoff actually look like? With playoff expansion becoming a real possibility, I'm laying out my proposed 24-team CFP format — one designed to reward conference performance, give every level of college football a path to the postseason, and limit how much power the selection committee has. MY 24-TEAM PLAYOFF: 🏈 4 automatic bids — SEC 🏈 4 automatic bids — Big Ten 🏈 4 automatic bids — Big 12 🏈 4 automatic bids — ACC 🏈 1 automatic bid — Pac-12 🏈 1 automatic bid — American 🏈 1 automatic bid — highest-ranked champion from the Mountain West, Conference USA, MAC or Sun Belt 🏈 5 at-large bids 🏈 Maximum of 6 teams from any single conference 🏈 No first-round matchups between teams from the same conference Under this system, conference races would matter more, more teams would remain alive late in the season, and the committee would have less control over who gets into the College Football Playoff.
