The Person of the Gospel Part 10 - Reconciliation of the World

Jesus declared in John’s Gospel that “the Father in me doeth the works.”  As a young Christian, my concept of the Father and Son was that God the Father was up in Heaven and Jesus the Son was on the earth, when Jesus walked the earth.  However, looking at the scripture, Jesus declared the Father was in Him and that He was in the Father.  This is plain in Christ’s declarations throughout the Book of John.  Especially John 14.    In 2 Corinthians 5, Paul writes that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.  Consider this in the light of the Lord’s nature.  In Adam we lived as Adam or the world.  In Christ we are to live in that which is Christ.  Not only has He brought us through the cross to Himself, but in the knowing of the Person of Jesus Christ we are coming or being transformed into the nature and character that He is, Christ actively forming Himself in our hearts and minds!
