If you don’t like snakes, you had better move to Alaska, Hawaii or Maine, otherwise no matter where you live in the United States, you are sharing geography with at least one of the 20 venomous snakes that call the U.S. home. You and your pet may encounter one when out for a walk or playing in your backyard. They can even slither into your home unnoticed. Imagine the scene…suddenly your pet is crying in pain or favoring a body part. Is it because of an insect bite, broken limb or snake bite? What do you do? Can you just ‘wait and see’ or do you need to see your veterinarian and how quickly do you need to get there? Your knowledge and the steps you take can make the difference between discomfort and death. My guest is Dr. Karl Jandrey.
