Professor Cardenas is an expert on transnational petroleum law, best oil and gas industry practices, and oil and gas geopolitics. He served as a career diplomat at the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs for nearly six years and has also been retained as an independent expert on Venezuelan law in international arbitrations regarding upstream and downstream petroleum transactions, direct foreign investments, and international construction projects.
