The Philadelphia Eagles After 2020 (PST Show #385)
from The Philadelphia Sports Table | Philly Sports News & Views · host The Philadelphia Sports Table
The Philadelphia Eagles have certainly seen their share of challenges over the past couple of seasons. This week, we take a look at what this entire franchise may look like in the years to come. Tyler Steege from the Eagles Brawl podcast joined us to dive into Howie Roseman, the front office, Jim Schwartz's tenure, and much more. But first, we discussed how we'll miss hearing Doc Emrick's voice on NHL broadcasts, and our thoughts on Flyers forward Nolan Patrick's 1-year qualifying offer contract. (approx. 3:25)We then talked about how the Phillies are going to have their 5th pitching coach in 5 years now that Bryan Price has announced his retirement. (approx. 14:00)From there, we gave our scorecards for the NBA and NHL after their seasons. What grades did we give them based on the circumstances they and we, as fans, faced? (approx. 19:55)On the Highbrow Segment this week, in light of the news that has come out about Dallas Cowboys players anonymously criticizing head coach Mike McCarthy and other Cowboys coaching staff, we can see this early "marriage" as somewhat of a failed experiment by the Cowboys. This week, we're asking the questions; why do we see the "re-tread so often in coaching? Why do coaches who we know aren't all that great at their jobs continue to get re-hired? (approx. 27:00)This week on the Lowbrow Segment, we're getting back to Cohost Questions where we ask each other random questions that may or may not be sports-related. (approx. 34:50)What we're throwing down on the Table this week is an in-depth interview with Tyler Steege from the Eagles Brawl podcast where we discussed the long-term future of this Eagles franchise. Has Howie Roseman truly been failing over the past few seasons? Where does Jalen Hurts’ fit into the Eagles picture over the next couple of seasons? Are we seeing a new torch being passed to a new generations of players on the offensive line and within the wide receiver corps? All of this and much more this week on the Table! (approx. 50:10)Email us at [email protected] to let us know your thoughts about anything and everything Philly sports. We'll read your email on the show and respond.
