The Phillies Have Issues, Yet There's Confidence (PST Episode 524)

from The Philadelphia Sports Table | Philly Sports News & Views · host The Philadelphia Sports Table

The Philadelphia Phillies have had tremendous ups and downs this season, and they’re a team that’s still hunting for that wild card spot. The team, overall, has issues to address before the trade deadline, and there are players who need to do better. However, we’re confident they can show us fans some good stuff during this second half of the season. This week, Kevin Lagowski from Fansided’s ThatBallsOuttaHere.com joined us for a look at this team and what we can potentially expect in the future. It was a fun discussion! But first, we discussed this Philadelphia Eagles team, how it has been a tremendous offseason, and how we can’t wait for Training Camp to start. (approx. 6:45)We then had a sobering discussion about Bronny James going into cardiac arrest this past week, and how we’ve been seeing this more and more with young athletes. (approx. 16:15)From there, we talked about the Sixers storyline telling us that Paul Reed may try to mold his future game after Pascal Siakam. (approx. 29:35)After that, we got into some back and forth about what the Phillies will need at the trade deadline, and what kind of bat they may want to acquire. (approx. 37:00)What we threw down on the Table this week was a great and in-depth discussion with Kevin Lagowski from That Ball’s Outta Here about this Phillies team, and some of the trials and tribulations they’ve been going through. Trea Turner is a liability at the plate. Is JT Realmuto on the downslide of his career? The future at the first-base position. What do they have such a difficult time with runners in scoring position? All of this and much more this week on the Table!
