Pianist and electronic artist Diogo Carriço takes listeners on a journey through the other side of one of the most familiar instruments in Western music: objects placed on strings to warp and distort their timbre, computer instructions hijacking a self-playing Disklavier piano to perform what human hands physically cannot, electronic manipulation pushing recordings into new dimensions, and virtual modelling raising wild questions — what would a piano sound like if its strings were two metres longer?
