Why would families risk everything to come to a harsh wilderness? They desired the freedom to worship God according to the Bible.William Bradford, one of their leaders, wrote that they came “for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith.” They believed that God’s Word should guide both life and liberty.America became strong when people believed liberty must be connected to truth and accountability before God. Psalm 33:12 says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD.”As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, may we remember that freedom flourishes when hearts seek the Lord.
