Book of Heaven - November 1, 1899, Volume 3 “I saw a pillar whose top touched Heaven, and at the bottom were priests, bishops, cardinals, and all other dignities sustaining it. But many were weak, infirm, or covered with mud. The pillar swayed under their weight. At its top stood the Holy Father, who with golden chains and rays of light did all he could to sustain and bind the people below and illuminate the world. Then the priest at the altar said: ‘My daughter, see in what a heartrending state My Church is. Those who should sustain Her withdraw and knock Her down. The only remedy is that I cause much blood to be shed to wash away this rotten mud.
