The Pitch-Black Room at the Dusty Boot Inn

from Plague Doctor's Round — Fexingo Horror · host Fexingo

In the autumn of 2008, a traveling salesman named Ellis Thorne checked into the Dusty Boot Inn outside Marble Falls, Texas. He was the only guest. The innkeeper, a woman named Hattie, gave him Room 8 at the end of the hall—a room with a door that didn't quite close, and a lock that clicked but didn't hold. That night, Ellis woke to the sound of footsteps in the hallway, passing his door again and again. He counted them. Always the same number of steps. Always stopping outside his door. The next morning, Hattie told him that Room 8 had been her son's room. He died there, she said. And every night, he walks the hall, looking for the door that will open. But you lock it, Ellis said. She shook her head. The lock's been broken for years. #DustyBootInn #MarbleFalls #EllisThorne #Hattie #Room8 #FootstepsInTheHall #LonelyHighway #AutumnHorror #SmallTown #MotelHorror #GhostStory #LockedDoor #Innkeeper #TexasHorror #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #AnthologyHorror #PlagueDoctorsRound Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

K. Chesterton (1874 - 1936) LibriVox LibriVox volunteers bring you 9 recordings of The Song Against Songs by G. K. Chesterton. This was the Fortnightly Poetry project for October 16, 2011.Chesterton was a large man, standing 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and weighing around 21 stone (130 kg; 290 lb). His girth gave rise to a famous anecdote. During World War I a lady in London asked why he was not 'out at the Front'; he replied, 'If you go round to the side, you will see that I am.' On another occasion he remarked to his friend George Bernard Shaw: "To look at you, anyone would think a famine had struck England". Shaw retorted, "To look at you, anyone would think you have caused it". P. G. Wodehouse once described a very loud crash as "a sound like Chesterton falling onto a sheet of tin."( Summary from Wikipedia ) Generally American (A Journey in American English) Christopher M.
