The Place of Honor

This message has to do with approaching the things of God, and how we ought to do that. Principles in approaching the things of God • Don't ever put yourself in a place of honor. Let God do that • Approach the worship service with your eyes on the Lord, and how you can please and honor him, rather than what you need to do to feel better • Have a sober opinion of yourself. No man should think of himself more highly than he ought to think. . . "Don't think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us." How much faith do you really have?? • Don't take advantage of the Liberty of the Spirit • Don't pride yourself on being "right" • Trust but verify • Be willing to wait on the Lord. o If he has burdened you with something. If He has placed something in your heart. HE will bring it to pass in His own good time • Nothing of eternal value is accomplished in our own strength
