Along with being a healthcare provider, Aimee is also a bariatric patient. Her journey began with a Lap-Band in 2010, followed by a revision to a vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG) in 2017. Living with the chronic disease of obesity firsthand shaped her calling to this work. Aimee is an active leader within the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), contributing to several national committees (CBN Committee, Integrated Health Support Group Committee, Access to Care Committee), serving as the Integrated Health State Chapter STAR (IH-STAR) in Alabama, and serving as a Member-at-Large on the National Integrated Health Leadership Council (IHLC). 🎙️ ABOUT YOUR HOST: Brenda Hoehn, MSN, BSN, RN, CHTP Brenda is a bariatric nurse who has worked with thousands of pre- and post-op bariatric surgery patients.
