The Poet Rosegold

from Spoken Sol Sessions · host The Composition Entertainment LLC

Activist.:.Host.:.Poet.:.Writer.:.  The Poet Rosegold Jennifer K. Yancey, a.k.a. The Poet Rosegold, hails from “the real Gotham City.” The Bronx, New York native started writing poetry at 15 as a more creative way of communicating to the world. She joined the U.S. Army eight years later, having served as a journalist, understood the power of the written word. Rosegold retired (20 years, eight assignments and three deployments later) in 2015. Rosegold moved to Colorado Springs shortly afterward, discovering a large spoken-word community that soon rekindled her relationship with the pen and helped her realize the power of her own voice. She jokingly refers to her work as “incendiary Redbone poetry,” highlighting the injustices tarnishing the American landscape; spirituality; love/sex; toxic relationships; mental health; and (past) life in the military. Her platform serves as a voice for those who don’t feel they have a voice, those who feel their voices aren’t “strong enough,” as well as those who are afraid to speak up and speak out.  FB: @RosegoldPoet IG: @thepoetrosegoldE: [email protected]       Highlight performance: ·      TEDx Colorado Springs 2019  Published in the Following Works: ·      The Cuddy Family Foundation For Veterans Poetry Journal, Volume Two (2021)·      The Cuddy Family Foundation For Veterans Poetry Journal, Volume One (2021)·      Love Letters to Gaia (2021)·      Poet Speak Magazine, Issue #40 (2021)·      Between a Laugh and a Tear (1991)  Community Engagements: ·      Juneteenth Celebration at COATI Uprise·      2nd Annual Juneteenth, Pride and Black Music Month Story Time·      Children of Gaia presents One Year in Solidarity: Candlelight Vigil in Honor of George Floyd·      One on Poetry (Alumni Edition) hosted by William Washington·      World Poetry Day at COATI Uprise·      AAHGSCS presents Celebrating Women’s History Month: Poetry by Women of Color·      Boss Babe Networking at COATI Uprise·      Meet the World Image Solutions Black History Month Literary Weekend·      La Bodega Gallery presents PALABRA: An Evening of Poetry·      Pikes Peak Lodge #5 presents Sixth Annual Dr. Nathaniel Granger Jr. Celebration of Black History·      Ethically Immoral Podcast, hosted by Mike Payne·      One On Poetry hosted by William Washington·      Kamal Speaks and the 1,000 Word Family All-Star Weekend Spoken Word Champs·      Mr. Speaker Ink Presents Zoom Serenade Sessions: What Women Want·      The Art of Seduction Open Mic hosted by Tantalizing Productions Inc.·      Got Love?
