THE POVERTY OF SELF HELP
from PASTOR TIM JUPP · host Tim Jupp
“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” There is a deadly, implacable, infinite, eternal hatred between Christ and that sin of which Satan is the representative. No compromise can ever be thought of, no quarter will ever be allowed. What a ridiculous suggestion, that the Lord of glory was in league with the the Prince of devils. ---- he never allies himself with Satan, to advance the kingdom of God, but he comes against him as a strong man armed, determined to fight until he wins a decisive victory.!! C.H. Spurgeon "The strong man will not be defeated by a lesser man. If by some trick, compromise or opportunistic advance this individual under his control gains ground, the last state of the lesser will be worse than the first. Satan is still the king of this world and will not yield a single soul without battle. Do you see the uselessness of self reformation, the utter poverty of self help?"
