The Levitical priesthood could regulate worship, but it could never cleanse the conscience, conquer death, or bring sinners finally into the presence of God. Hebrews 7:11–16 reveals why another Priest was necessary: Jesus Christ came not to repair the old order, but to fulfill it and establish a better covenant through the power of an indestructible life.
