The POWER of DEATH

from Power, Purpose, & Passion with Anthony Cheam · host Anthony Cheam

A family member of mine has recently been overtaken by old age and is currently on their deathbed. I went to the hospital to see her, and seeing family members around the bed telling stories and sharing moments was really magical. Often I sing and play music at weddings at funerals, and while weddings are beautiful ceremonies, funerals are a lot more meaningful in terms of people getting together. Usually, there will be around 10% of people that don’t show up to your wedding, but if someone important in their life dies, most will show up. In fact, at weddings, there’s a lot of personal animosities where people are offended that they weren’t part of the wedding party or didn’t make it as a bridesmaid. There ends up being lots of politics at a wedding. But at a funeral, people get together regardless of their differences and their backgrounds. Death can often teach you about life more than life itself.
