The Power of God's Blessing 1 - Exodus 1

There are many things in this world that are considered strong.Steel is strong.The double earthquakes that came to Venezuela just recently - very strong.Train locomotives have such strength to pull things.Yesterday at a memorial, I saw the strength of love between a husband and wife over decades that only grows.I want to talk today about the strength of the blessing of God. The circumstances of our lives trouble us. Current events trouble us. Maybe some of the struggles we feel in our own lives, just to walk with God as we wish. We feel like the blessing of God is fragile. But God's ability to hold us and save us and keep us and fulfill His purposes for us is unmatched.I want to walk through the first 19 chapters of Exodus over the remaining months of summer, leading right into our fall retreat. In Exodus 19, there is this amazing verse where God takes the people out of Egypt, brings them to Mount Sinai, and says to them, "You yourselves know how I brought you out of Egypt and how I carried you on eagles' wings." And then this is it: "And I brought you to myself."That's where He's going. The blessing of God, that He brings us to Himself. That's the focus of the retreat: an encounter with God. Meet with God.
