The Power of God's Blessing 3: The Bush that Wouldn't Burn - Exodus 3
from Toronto Alliance Church · host Toronto Alliance Church
Our youngest grandchild is a toddler, just barely able to walk, and that child is like an accident waiting to happen. Every moment that child needs rescuing. You're at a campground. There's fire, there's water, there are sharp drop-offs, and that child is happily and eagerly walking into danger constantly. So you are rescuing that child. It's the nature of humanity to find ourselves in places where there are chains, suffering, despair, hopelessness. No way out, unless there's an encounter with the living God. But the amazing thing is that God is One who rescues. We're walking through these first 20 chapters or so of Exodus. I've called the sermon series "The God Who Rescues."The thing I want to draw out today is that when God rescues, He never does it alone. God could do anything. But He chooses to draw us into that work. That poses a problem, because sometimes we're reluctant, or too comfortable, or we don't believe that He could really do that.We encounter a lot of those objections here today, in a conversation between God and a man at a bush that is burning but does not burn up.Extra reading: John 6:35-40Preacher: Bill Dyck
