The Power of Intercession

In Week 4 of our Knock series, Pastor Derek Crawford shifts our focus from the "how" of prayer to the "why." Using the High Priestly Prayer of Jesus, we explore why prayer is essential for our spiritual life and how it serves as the ultimate catalyst for unity in the Church. In this message, we unpack: • The Necessity of Prayer: Understanding that prayer isn't just a religious duty, but a vital requirement for the health and formation of every believer. • Jesus’ Prayer for Unity: A deep dive into John 17 and why Jesus’ primary request for all future believers was that we would be brought to complete unity. • Intercessory Rhythm: How to transition from personal petitions to praying for our families, our neighbors, and the global Church. • A Model of Love: Looking at the relationship between the Father and the Son as the blueprint for how we are called to love and support one another through prayer. • Standing in the Gap: The practical call to stand in the gap for others, even when we don't have all the details, trusting that God is already at work. Prayer is the tool God uses to bring us together on a shared mission. When we pray for "all the Lord’s people," we reflect the heart of Jesus to a world that is watching.
