BIBLE STUDY| MIRACLES OF JESUS SERIES.|THE FIFTH MIRACLE OF JESUS pt.12| THE POWER OF RETREAT|JESUS WALKING ON WATER| CHIMDI OHAHUNA Ever wonder what Jesus did before He performed a miracle? In this episode, we are zooming in on a quiet but powerful moment when Jesus went up the mountain to pray (Matthew 14:23). No crowds. No noise. Just Him and the Father God. And that’s where the real miracle begins. Discover more about pâlal, a Hebrew word for prayer that doesn’t just mean “talking to God.” It means to judge. Previously, we began understanding that before you even open your mouth in prayer, your heart and mind ought to be making a statement about who you believe God is. Key Highlights & Revelations: - Prayer begins in the mind. If your thoughts are uncertain about God, your words will lack power. As James 1:6–8 reminds us, double-mindedness disrupts divine communication. - Meditation precedes petition. Fix your thoughts on Christ. Speak His name. In doing so, you anchor your confidence in who God is. (Philippians 4:19) - Know before you ask. You must know His Christ and His Word to receive from Him. (Romans 10:17, 1 John 5:14–15) - Daniel 11:32b reveals that those who know their God don’t just perform—they do as He does. The word “exploits” was added in translation; the original Hebrew ends with “do.” - Your reaction to challenges reveals your revelation. What you know of God determines what you can demand from Him. - Waiting is not denial. Sometimes God says “Wait on Me” to mature your faith. His answers are always within His will. - Right division leads to right judgment. 2 Timothy 2:15 teaches that understanding the Word rightly enables us to judge God rightly—and that judgment shapes our prayers. - Faith-filled prayer is rooted in right judgment. Like Sarah, David, and Jesus, we must judge God faithful before we speak. (Hebrews 11:11, Psalm 55:17, John 11:41–44) Prayer is not a gamble or a last-minute SOS. It is a lifestyle. Prayer is not a reaction to crisis. It is a spiritual transaction that begins with a settled heart and a sound mind. The dead have no privilege to challenge, but the living do. Let us not waste that privilege by approaching God with uncertainty. Judge Him faithful. Judge Him good. And then, speak. Listen now to be stirred, instructed, and aligned with the heart of God. This episode will strengthen your prayer life and sharpen your spiritual posture for the miraculous. Share with someone who needs to hear this clarion call to retreat and refire.
