Karla is the founder of The Born Educators Academy and has taught comprehensive educational seminars in the community, trained youth-serving college students and professionals on HIV/AID/STD, provided prevention counseling and testing for nonprofits, state and federal agencies. She serves as a program manager, grant writer and grant reviewer for Federal Agencies and Private Foundations. She serves as a consultant and facilitator on non-profits workshops and help others start their nonprofits. She has  authored several curricula for women and girls, several self-help workbooks, and therapeutic journals.
