The Power of Public Speaking with Alfie Joey

Welcome to the HR Business Blueprint Podcast. I'm Nikki Masterman, founder and CEO of Inspired HR. In this episode, I’m joined by the multi-talented Alfie Joey, actor, writer, presenter, impressionist, singer, and former BBC Newcastle breakfast show host. We dive into the world of public speaking and performing, and why the ability to confidently take the stage or speak up in a room is a game-changer for business professionals. Alfie shares stories from his early career, behind-the-scenes tales from his BBC days, and the unexpected lessons he’s learned along the way. We talk about overcoming the fear of public speaking, the misconception that only extroverts thrive on stage, and how real confidence comes with experience. This episode is packed with inspiration, humour, and practical wisdom, especially if you’ve ever felt nervous about speaking in front of a crowd or want to become a more confident communicator.
