The Power of Spirit with Madeleine Black

from BIG SOULS, BIG IDEAS

What’s impact of trauma – on the body, mind, heart, psyche? How can one trust after experiencing violence? What does it really take to walk on the path of forgiveness? How can you reclaim your power after violence?Join us for a conversation with Courage Cultivator, Author and Activist Madeleine Black who's on a mission to raise awareness around the impact of sexual trauma and why forgiveness is the key to healing in a world that often forgets that our hearts were made to rise above the pain that surrounds us. How? Through love, of course.Love for oneself, love for one another, love for humanity: one day at a time.Madeleine has an unusual personal story which she uses to inspire and motivate others: her own story of recovering from adversity. Violently gang raped when she was thirteen years old, and raped three more times before the age of eighteen, Madeleine has experienced more trauma in her life than most ever will.In her words, "It’s not what happens to us that is important, but what we do with what happens to us and if we choose to, we can get past anything that happens to us in life."We are not defined by what knocks us down – we are defined by how we get back up. For Madeleine, forgiveness was the key. True forgiveness takes genuine effort. It takes a real desire to understand those who have done us so much harm. It is the ultimate act of courage. 🎬 Watch the full conversation on YouTube- - - - - - - -BIG SOULS, BIG IDEASAre you tired of small talk?
