The Power of Stillness

from Awe Stories · host Amy Green

I am beyond grateful to share with you our latest episode which features Lindsay Gibson.  She shares her courageous journey through stillness and learning how to be with herself, her past trauma, and find her source of joy.  Lindsay became numb and lived in denial after a traumatic experience at 16 years old.  She shares how she lived in fear, in flight, and often experienced flashbacks, nightmares, and disassociated. When she became a mother for the first time, she poured herself into motherhood, continuing to live in the denial of the traumatic experience.  After the stillbirth of her son, Joseph, grief overwhelmed her to the point where she could no longer deny being present with her emotions and allowing herself to fully feel her love, and her loss.  Trauma sensitive yoga became a regular practice and supported her journey back to joy.
