The Power of the Story

Send us Fan MailOne of my favorite shows is CBS Sunday Morning. Yesterday one of the segments depicted current survivors of the Holocaust. They are now in their 80s and 90s. A photographer, Gillian Laub, is taking beautiful photographs of as many of these survivors as she can and then displays their pictures on the sides of buildings in New York City with quotes and inscriptions to not forget what happened and to give hope. One of the women photographed said to the photographer, "What's going to happen when I'm not here? Who's going to tell my story?"Story has the power to shape history, to prevent disaster, to heal individuals, to bear witness. There is power in the story. We must take note. We all have a story to tell.Thanks for listening.
