The power of the Word Pt 2

This week we will be revisiting the sermon preached over the weekend, “The Power of the Word”, as we feel it is important to be reminded of what God is saying to us as a family.Mark 4:13-20 [NIV] - "Then He said to them: “Do you not understand this parable? How will you understand all? The sower sows the word and these are the ones by the way side where the word is sown and when they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that is sown in their hearts.”Satan will do anything to steal the Word of God sown in our hearts, but God has given us tools to deal with his attacks:Problem with Promise.John 16:33 [NIV] – “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”There is a promise for every problem we face.The weapons of our warfare are the Word of God.Danger without Awareness.Matthew 24:4-13 [NIV] – “Watch out that no one deceives you.”Danger comes when the things of the world and circumstances outweigh the Kingdom Reality, and we don’t carry a truth of the Word in our heart.Satan will try to sow his own seeds in the form of words by exposing us to conversations and information to deceive us, get us discouraged, and make us negative. He wants our love for God to grow cold (verse 4) and our thoughts and expectancy of God carnal (James 3:14-16) so that hope is deferred.Answer with Hope.God wants to abide in us and place His Word in us so that we can speak to circumstances and situations around us. We are carriers of hope and life!Take hold of the seed of the Word in you, nurture it and let it grow strong so that it can bear the fruit of healing, love, and hope.The thing that will sustain you and hold you is the level of Word you get in your heart.Reflection:Whatever you are facing at this moment in time, there is a promise in the Word for you. Decide not to allow the voices of the world to steal the Word from your heart,take responsibility to hear the Word, read it, accept it, reread it, pray over it, and get it well rooted in you so that what comes out of you is life and victory!
