The power of the Word Pt 3

This week we will be revisiting the sermon preached over the weekend, "The Power of the Word”, as we feel it is important to be reminded of what God is saying to us as a family.Mark 4:13-20 [NKJV] - "Then He said to them: “Do you not understand this parable? How will you understand all? The sower sows the Word and these are the ones by the way side where the word is sown and when they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the Word that is sown in their hearts.”1. The Importance of the Seed and Sowing- Genesis 8:22 (NKJV) – “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest... shall not cease.”- Seeds come through thoughts, words, or deeds. For the seed to be activated, we need to speak (sow) the words, which will produce a harvest over time.- The seed of God’s Word needs to be rooted in our hearts so that it can sustain us in all circumstances and challenges.2. Looking at the Word with Kingdom lenses- In God’s Kingdom, everything is activated by the Word of God. He creates, He heals and He overcomes by His Word.- Wherever God’s Word goes, God goes. His Word represents Him, and He represents His Word! John 1:1 (NKJV)“- As His children, we need to approach His Word with Kingdom lenses.3. Understanding the Decrees of the King- Ecclesiastes 8:2-3 (NKJV) – “Keep the King’s Commands (decrees) for the sake of the oath of God. Do not haste to go from His presence and do not take your stand for an evil thing, for He does whatever pleases Him.”- We need to abide in His presence until we get His Word, His will, and His way in our hearts and in our mouths. Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV) - “It will not return to Him void.”- The King’s Word constitutes His will. The Word of God declares the ways of God. The power of God is in His Word, and the Word is in His power.Reflection- We need to become aware of His presence so that through the revelation of His Word, we can receive His will and way for every situation.- Through God’s Word, we can resist the enemy, remain free, and live in victory.- It is important to lay hold of the seed of God’s Word, the decrees over your life,and to allow the Word to be established in your heart so that you will bear much fruit.
