This week we will be revisiting the sermon preached over the weekend, “The Power of the Word”, as we feel it is important to be reminded of what God is saying to us as a family.John 1:1 (NKJV) - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.”1. Know the Word:- For every problem, there is a promise!- The Word is alive! 1 John 1:1 (NIV) - That which was from the beginning, whichwe have heard, have seen, have looked at and our hands have touched,we proclaim concerning the Word of life”.- The Word takes root in our hearts when we read it and meditate on it.- Allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate the Word until it becomes revelation.- Lastly, apply the Word.2. Now, What Do We Do?- Lean into the Word. Proverbs 4:20 (NIV) - “My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words.- Let God’s Word be at home/dwell in you. John 15:7 (NKJV) – “If you abide in Me, and My word abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”- Meditate on the Word and declare over your circumstances (Joshua 1:8). 3. The Result.- Fellowship and joy in our relationship with God (John 15:7-1).- We will be Spirit-led. Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV) – “Trust in the Lord with all you heartand He will direct your paths.”- The Word in me will come out of my mouth (Luke 4:1-15).Reflection:As you grow in the Word, you will grow in relationship with God and be filled with His love and joy. Take some time and ask God for a greater to desire to read His word, meditate on it, speak it and apply it.
