"The Power of Transforming Relationships"

from Crossgate Church Podcasts

"The Power of Transforming Relationships" In this teaching Pastor Rob examines one of the most crucial characteristics that make up a authentic Biblical Community. Accountability - "So then each of us will give an account of himself to God." (Romans 14 Verse 12) This accounting will not be a general review, it will be a detailed account of our lives and the words we have spoken. "But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgement for every empty word they have spoken." (Matthew 12 Verse 36) So how can we invite accountability into our relationships with others? 1) Accountability is necessary because it helps me do with somebody else what I would not do all by myself. (1 Timothy 4 Verses 7-8) 2) Accountability works better when I invite it rather than when I endure it. (Hebrews 10 Verse 24) 3) Accountability takes a lot of courage. 4) Accountability is not just about avoiding what is bad; it's about pursuing good. Remember, we all need accountability in our lives because we are all good excuse makers and because we have such a remarkable life in the kingdom that lies before us.
