The Prayer of Faith

Serious illness can make prayer feel urgent and confusing, especially when healing does not come. James urges the sick person to call the church elders, who pray in Jesus' name with expectant confidence. Faith does not force God to follow human plans; it trusts Jesus can heal while peacefully accepting God's wiser will. Sickness cannot be tied confidently to a particular sin, yet confession can bring restoration. Flawed people like Elijah can pray expectantly because God supplies the power.
