The Prayer of Jabez

“Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, ‘Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!’ And God granted what he asked” (1 Chronicles 4:10) “…the clans of scribes who lived at Jabez:” (1 Chronicles 2:55) “But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit” (Jude 1:20) Jabez prayed for four things: 1. That God would bless him 2. That God would enlarge his territory 3. That God’s hand might be with him 4. That God would keep him from evil
