The Prayers Below the Surface

Most people will ask you how you’re doing and our typical answer is, “Fine.” But what about this question, “How’s your prayer life?” Perhaps you’d give a similar answer of, “Fine.” But in reality, perhaps it could be better.” In our text for today Jesus teaches us to pray without ceasing and to not lose hope. But what does that mean? What if we’re only skimming the surface when it comes to the gift of prayer? Let's dig a bit deeper into this often neglected and underutilized tool that we have in our spiritual toolbox.
