Now they became beneficiaries of the Holy Spirit. And Peter, as theirauthorized spokesman, defended their actions, saying, “For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but thethird hour of the day. But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; and it shall come to pass in the last days,saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh” (vv. Pentecost is a day of extraordinary events2. Pentecost was Christ’s day of glory.“Peter says. “We saw Him on the hill of ascension, where He blessed us, then rose to heaven. Now He is exalted tothe right hand of God. He has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you nowsee and hear (v. 33).
