The Prerequisites of a Lasting Relationship (Part 4)

In the last of his series on relationships, Pastor Tai talked us through how we can ‘secure a lasting relationship’.  Fear is a major factor that can cause us to let go of a relationship prematurely. Many of us have been hurt by a previous relationship or have parents who did not demonstrate what a healthy marriage looks like and have developed a fear of being hurt as a result. But fear can truly kill love, so it is important to heal from past hurts in order to experience love.  Likewise many people stay in a relationship longer than they should because they fear being single, without realising that something greater could happen when they let go. By asking yourself a few questions highlighted during the message, you can make an effective decision about whether you should stay or leave a relationship.  Pastor Tai also highlighted the importance of understanding the differences between how God created women and men. We have all heard the saying “women are from Venus and men are from Mars”, but if we learn to acknowledge how we are different and the strength in our differences, it can lead to a more lasting and fulfilling relationship.
