The president of the Woodland Hills school board has resigned after being charged with theft from Rankin Borough. The district confirms Terri Lawson stepped down after being charged with theft by deception, forgery, tampering with records and access device fraud. Investigators say Lawson is accused of charging nearly ten-thousand dollars in personal purchases to a Rankin Borough credit card while serving as borough manager, including transactions at several retail and grocery stores. Lawson turned herself in last week, and her attorney says she strongly denies the allegations. District officials stress there are no claims of wrongdoing involving school funds and say they’ll take action at tonight's meeting to fill the board president vacancy, reaffirming their commitment to transparency and accountability.
