On March 12, 2019, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that it had indicted 50 people on bribery and racketeering charges in a scheme to have under-qualified students admitted to prestigious universities across the country. The University of Texas was one of those schools. Daily Texan reporter Megan Menchaca has been covering the scandal as its unfolded.
