Del. Lee Carter has called for a cap on insulin prices. Cathy Lewis discusses the cost of that life-saving medicine with him, and we hear from a woman who has been impacted by this issue personally. Then we discuss efforts by the UVA Health System to collect medical debts from patients. A Washington Post article reported that it has sued thousands of people, seized bank accounts, put liens on property, and forced people into bankruptcy. Later in the program, we hear about a local man who is HIV-positive and recently donated a kidney to a recipient with HIV as part of a clinical trial.
