This led him to believe he was the source of that glory. He clarifies that Lucifer's downfall began when he became obsessed with the attention God gave to humans, whom He created from dirt. God shaped humans in His image and breathed life into them, giving them authority in heaven and earth. He vowed to destroy humanity, believing they had taken the place he once held with God. He then went ahead to declare war against God and heaven, also enticing the watchers whom God placed over humanity to watch over mankind. He violated God's holiness with his pride, his love for glory, and his desire for promotion; all these sins led to him being driven down from heaven.  In addition, Joseph asserts that God created all things for mankind, citing Proverbs 8:22-31 to establish that Jesus delighted in the sons of men, unlike Lucifer, who took mankind as his sworn enemies out of jealousy for them.
